"
—Area description text

Casino Land is the fifth and final major area in MadWorld. It is located on the northern side of Jefferson Island. As its name implies, its primary aesthetic consists of gambling machines and flashy light associated with casinos.

It is preceded by Area 66.

Casino Land is the only major area to not feature any DeathWatch Challenge at all.

Levels[]

As with the other major areas, Casino Land has three levels, although only two of them are selectable from the map screen.

First, there is The Strip, a stretch of a casino-themed road with bumpers, die-shaped boxes and other casino-themed hazards. This stage potentially contains almost every Grunt Enemy in the game, as they are all fought in different waves of Man Darts II, this level's Bloodbath Challenge.

At the end of the strip stand The Tower, a massive construction and the penultimate level in the game. and takes place in a big elevator where Jack must fight three waves of enemies consisting of various subbosses on his way to the top.

Atop the tower lies the Ring of Madness, a wrestling ring arena in the middle of a large stadium high up in the sky. The only opponent fought here is The Champion themselves. This level is not accessible from the map screen. Instead, it starts immediately after beating The Tower.

Commentator Quotes[]

  • Howard: “If you’re down for some fast and dirty action, the Jefferson Island Casino is the place to go! The only thing cheaper than drinks here is the value placed on human life! The higher you roll, the farther you fall in this glittering fantasy land in which dreams are shattered, along with the heads that house them!
  • Kreese: “And don’t forget the great buffets! All-you-can-eat shrimp!”

Trivia[]

  • The nature of this level, mainly the layout of all 3 levels put together might be a reference to Stage 8 and the Final Stage from God Hand, in that the protagonist Gene faced off against an army of enemies, then ascended a tower where he fought multiple sub bosses, and once at the top, faced the final boss, these three traits are very similar to Casino Land, and considering that Platinum Games is made of former members of Clover Studios, the developers of God Hand, this is likely to be an intentional reference instead of a coincidence.
  • The design of the bumpers (more specifically, the star on them) might be a reference to the bumpers from Sonic The Hedgehog, one of SEGA's flagship franchises.
    • The entire concept of Casino Land might in fact be a reference to a common theme for many a level in the Sonic The Hedgehog games, best exemplified by the Casino Night Zone.
