"Look here, the pimp named 'Black Baron', stop starin', ain't much for the sport, but seeing as how ya'll like hitting them little white things, I present to you: MAN GOLF!"
—The Black Baron

Man Golf is a Bloodbath Challenge in the DeathWatch games held on Jefferson Island. It is the Bloodbath Challenge of the Mad Castle's courtyard and the seventh Bloodbath Challenge in MadWorld.

The Challenge[]

The objective of this Bloodbath Challenge is to pin zombies to the ground and use a golf club to whack their heads off in order to hit flying targets.

There are ten formations of targets, and their order is predetermined. Once all targets of are formation were hit, the next formation will appear. After all targets of the tenth formation were hit, the Bloodbath Challenge ends, regardless of the time remaining.

Scoring points[]

There are two factors that are considered when determining the points earned for each stroke. The first factor is the amount of targets hit with that stroke. The points for that are calculated as follows:

, with  being the amount of targets that are hit with that stroke.

This results in the following table which shows the amount of points for each possible stroke.

Targets hit 1st target 2nd target 3rd target 4th target 5th target
Points
(per target)
2,000 points 4,000 points 8,000 points 16,000 points 32,000 points
Points
(total)
2,000 points 6,000 points 14,000 points 30,000 points 62,000 points

This applies only to the targets that are spawned during the course of the Bloodbath Challenge; the targets that are already present yield no points upon being hit.

Additionally, a bonus of 100 points is awarded for each yard that the shot traveled, provided that at least one target was hit. It doesn't matter if the target that Jack hit was spawned during the Bloodbath Challenge or was already present; as long as he breaks a target, he will get the points for distance.

Interestingly, if Jack hits some of the floating targets once the Bloodbath Challenge is unlocked but not yet triggered, he will receive the points for the distance of these shots right at the start of the Bloodbath Challenge. He will also receive the points for distance for the last shot before unlocking the Bloodbath Challenge. This is most likely a bug.

Multiplayer rules[]

In multiplayer, each target that is broken is worth one point. There are no bonus points for combos. The points are not awarded to the one who launched the enemy's head at the targets, but to the one who was supposed to do so, determined by the mask the enemy was wearing (Big Bull Mask for Jack, Madam Yang for Kojack). The formations of the targets are the same as in singleplayer mode, but after the tenth formation is cleared, it starts over with the first formation.

Commentator Quotes[]

  • Howard: "Nice shot for an airhead!"
  • Kreese: "What, you callin' Jack an airhead?"
  • Howard: "Are you kiddin'? He'd kill me! I just meant that that head was up in the air, and it was a nice shot!"
  • Kreese: "But Jack doesn't have to kill ya: I will!"
  • Howard: “Wow! Jack puts the “mash” in Mashy Niblick!”
  • Kreese: “That’s a pretty inside golf term. You play a lot?”
  • Howard: “Never. That’s the poor sap’s name. Mashy Niblick!”
  • Howard: emotionally “I’ve seen a lot of heads smacked off of a lot of shoulders with a lot of golf clubs, but I never saw one smacked off as hard and far as the one we just witnessed! WE LOVE YOU, JACK!”
  • Kreese: “Jesus Christ on a crotch, get a fucking room, you pansy!”
  • Howard: “…Will you join me?”

Trivia[]

  • The displayed distance of the shot stops once Jack grabs the next enemy. However, this has no influence on Jack's score, as the correct distance will still be measured.
