The Spike Bat is a weapon in MadWorld. It is the first weapon to be introduced and appears in the very first level.
Description[]
The Spike Bat is a very primitive weapon. It is simply a wooden baseball bat with black leather straps for a better grip. The bat was pierced with plenty of metal nails.
Involvement in the Jefferson Island DeathWatch games[]
This ubiquitous weapon is widely used in the DeathWatch games held on Jefferson Island; it appears in every major area of it.
- It first appears on the far side of the Central Station inside a Mayhem Dispenser after Jack scores 1,000,000 points.
- Another Spike Bat can be earned in the Downtown area of Varrigan City after Jack scored 60,000 points, again from a Mayhem Dispenser.
- A Spike Bat can be found inside a chest in Asian Town's bistro. It spawns right after Jack attacks the giant bell.
- A Mayhem Dispenser in the Dungeon of Mad Castle dispenses a Spike Bat after Jack earned 175,000 points.
- A Spike Bat can be found in the Maintenance Facility of Area 66. It is hidden just outside the window of the alien spaceship's command bridge and can be accessed immediately.
- On the Strip of Casino Land, a Mayhem Dispenser right at the start of the level dispenses a Spike Bat after Jack earned 100,000 points.
- Inside Casino Land's Tower, a Spike Bat can be found inside a crate right at the start of the level.
Also, some Thugs can be seen using a Spike Bat.
Baseball bat[]
There exists a spikeless version of the bat. The baseball bat is black with white strips for a better grip. The words "HAPPY SWING" are written on it. The baseball bat is used exclusively for Man Darts and Man Darts II.
Attacks[]
There are five possible ways to attack with the Spike Bat. They are very similar to the attacks of the Golf Club or the Torch.
- A button: A basic swing which can be strung together up to a combo of three hits.
- B button + swinging the Wiimote: Jack brutally swings the bat which sends the enemy flying, reminiscent of a home run. This is the unique attack of the Spike Bat and is used in Man Darts to score points.
- Swinging the Wiimote: Jack gathers his strength before he slugs the enemy, causing him to fall backwards.
- A button (in midair): Jack smashes the bat to the ground, downing the enemies he hits. Very effective against already downed enemies.
- A button (after dodging): Jack dashes forward and one-handedly swings the bat thrice, throwing the enemies off their feet.
Each blow with the Spike Bat is worth 2,000 points. If the blow kills the enemy, it is worth 10,000 points (plus the base 10,000 points for the kill itself).
